We recommend using a trivet or hot pad. Engineered quartz contains polymer resins that can be affected by concentrated heat, particularly around edges and cutouts. Natural granite generally provides greater heat resistance than engineered quartz.

Home Depot Canada's natural stone program recommends sealing natural stone approximately every 2 to 3 years, although the correct interval depends on the specific stone and sealer.
Quartz is highly stain and scratch resistant, but it is not indestructible. Its nonporous construction helps resist spills such as coffee, wine and cooking oils. Cutting boards are still recommended, and abrasive cleaners or pads can affect some finishes. Caesarstone, Cambria, HanStone and Vicostone should be maintained according to the individual manufacturer's care instructions.
